This new service is designed to compliment zap COMPRESSION EMAIL which has been operating successfully for some time.

What does it do?

zap WORLD WEATHER TRACK™ is software that enables mobile users to view sophisticated weather information in clear graphic format. The weather information is ordered either as a one off request ( paid for as and when) or by a continuous automated delivery ( paid for by monthly subscription).

Using zap email to despatch ‘the order’ the weather data requested is returned to the sender ( again using zap email ) in GRIB file format. The file is normally 30-60kb depending upon content ordered.

Once received the file is imported into the zap WORLD WEATHER TRACK software which has been previously installed on the host computer. Once imported the software displays all weather information overlayed onto a detailed map of the target area.

The user is then able to select the type of weather data to view, by clicking on toolbar buttons which will activate views of the following criteria. · Temperature · Pressure · Sea surface conditions · Wave data and swell · Wind speed and direction · Tropical events · Ice · Current · Route tracking etc.

The obvious advantages of this new service are that detailed weather data can be obtained cheaply and quickly and then viewed offline with sophisticated graphics providing invaluable guidance for mariners etc.

How is it purchased

You will require zap email software and zap weathertrack software to use this new service.

On receipt of your software

• Simply complete the dual purpose form and fax back to zap email activations at AST + 44 (0) 1493 441023.

• You will then recieve a welcome email to your new zap email address, with the instruction to reply.

• Upon receipt of your email we will activate the weather service.

AST will merge the monthly costs of Weather Track service with monthly zap email charges, thus providing you with one monthly bill.
